A Bit About Rick
A native of Huntington Beach, California, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia Canada in 1992. After working as a clerk in several large law firms in Los Angeles, I decided to go to law school. In the fall of 1995, I enrolled in Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California.
After law school and admission to the California Bar, I worked for the Law Offices of John C. Nelson in Newport Beach, California. I began my legal career preparing collections complaints and motions. After about three months of grinding out complaints for money damages, I was moved to the firm’s immigration practice. While employed by Mr. Nelson’s office I focused on business and family based immigration, naturalization, and removal (deportation) defense.
After a year and a half in Newport Beach, I moved east. I accepted a position as General Counsel at The Boston Group, an information technology consulting company that draws its talent from overseas. While with the Boston Group, my practice was strictly business-based immigration with the occasional general corporate matter to attend to.
In July 2001, I opened my own office. I practice immigration and nationality law out of my office in Westborough. I am admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeal for the First and Ninth Circuits. I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Worcester County Bar Association. |
